Fitter Image Exercise Program
Hoag's Fitter Image program offers a variety of physical activities
that are designed to be safe and appropriate for individuals currently
being treated for cancer or who have completed treatment, and are provided
in a non-competitive and supportive environment.
Classes are designed to promote a sense of well-being and are tailored

Cancer Exercise Class - Prehab & Risk Reduction for Cancer Patients
Join in on an exercise class designed to optimize your health prior to
treatment, and for patients post-treatment to maintain good health and
reduce the risk of recurrence. This is a quarterly class series.

Energizing Cardio and Toning Mix
Combination intervals of aerobic movement with intervals of toning exercises.
Incorporates varied disciplines such as ballet, salsa, kickboxing, aerobics
and stretching. Intermediate to advanced fitness levels. Mondays from
4:15-5:15 p.m. at the Hoag Newport Beach Cancer Center Auditorium
A gentle, restorative yoga and meditation practice utilizing sound healing
and Tibetan singing bowls to aid in relaxation. Good for all levels of
ability and is appropriate during cancer treatment. Mondays from 1:30-2:30
p.m. at the Hoag Irvine Cancer Center (2nd floor, "Canyon/Creek" room)
Pilates Mat Class
Enjoy strengthening, lengthening and tightening benefits with emphasis
on the core, hips and thighs. Foam roller and mat required. Intermediate
to advanced fitness levels. Held Wednesdays from 4:30-5:30 p.m. at the
Hoag Newport Beach Cancer Center Auditorium
Restorative Yoga
Conscious body and mind relaxation with gentle, supported stretching. Good
for all levels of ability and is appropriate during cancer treatment.
Tuesdays from 4:30-5:30 p.m. at the Hoag Newport Beach Cancer Center Auditorium
and Wednesdays from 12-1 p.m. at the Hoag Irvine Cancer Center (2nd floor,
"Canyon/Creek" room).
Soothing Pilates and Yoga Fusion
Soothing and relaxing class that combines toning Pilates exercises with
relaxing yoga movements. Improves flexibility, strength, balance and coordination.
Intermediate caitto advanced fitness levels. Mondays from 5:15-6:15 p.m.
at the Hoag Newport Beach Cancer Center Auditorium and Mondays from 10-11
a.m. at the Hoag Irvine Cancer Center (2nd floor, "Canyon/Creek" room)
Yoga
Progressive movement into yoga postures seated in chairs, standing up and
lying down on the floor. Focus on breathing throughout with frequent rest
periods for assessment and transitions. Gentle enough for those in active
treatment. Held Wednesdays from 3-4 p.m. at Hoag Newport Beach Cancer
Center Auditorium.
Yoga for Health and Well-Being
Students learn a variety of yoga techniques to adapt to work well with
the needs and abilities of their bodies. This is a good basics class for
new yoga practitioners with opportunities for experienced students to
practice more advanced yoga poses. This class promotes movement and flexibility.
May be too vigorous for people in active treatment. Thursdays from 4-5
p.m. at the Hoag Newport Beach Cancer Center Auditorium
