Concussion/Mild TBI
The Concussion/Mild Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Program at Hoag uses specialized,
state-of-the-art testing and symptom assessments, which are sensitive
to detecting concussion-related dysfunction. Concussion Clinic clinicians
use these findings to make detailed recommendations about returning to
school, play, and/or work.
The program offers neurocognitive baseline screenings for individuals who
participate in sports or other activities with a risk of head injury and post-
concussive injury triage, as well as assessment and management of complex
concussive injuries. The Concussion/m TBI Program is comprised of a multidisciplinary
team of neurologists, neuropsychologists and nurses who specialize in
identification, monitoring and management of concussive symptoms in individuals
age 12 and older.
The clinic also works collaboratively with physical therapy, sleep medicine,
and behavior medicine providers to treat all aspects of concussive injuries.
