Dr. Vincent Nguyen, D.O., is a Board Certified Hospice and Palliative Care
Specialist with Board Certifications in Geriatrics and Family Medicine.
He earned his Medical Degree from Western University of Health Sciences in 1992.
He currently serves as the Program Director of CARES, a palliative service
at Hoag, providing clinical and administrative oversight in the inpatient
and post-acute settings. He is also an Assistant Clinical Professor at
the UC Irvine School of Medicine.
Prior to his current role, Dr. Vincent Nguyen was the Medical Director
of Geriatrics and Palliative Care Services at Monarch HealthCare for over
five years. During his tenure, he developed the post-acute service in
the Skilled Nursing Facility settings, implemented a training program
for mid-career physicians in the art of Hospice and Palliative Medicine
through UC Irvine, and developed a home-based palliative care service.
Dr. Nguyen was a recipient of a four-year grant from the California Health
Care Foundation to champion the POLST implementation in Orange County.
He currently co-chairs the Orange County POLST Coalition to advance this effort.
His interests outside of medicine include weekend retreats and golfing
with his three daughters.
