Good neighbors not only open their doors to you but come to your door when
you need them.
That is why, as part of Hoag’s mission to make world-class health
care accessible to more people closer to home, Hoag has planted roots in
Huntington Beach and continued to grow its services.
“Health care today needs to reach people where they are. That is
why extending our services into the community is so important,” said
Amit Hiteshi, M.D., Hoag Medical Group Huntington Beach internist and medical
director of the Huntington Beach Senior Center in Central Park.
Dr. Hiteshi, along with his physician colleagues and Hoag leaders, recognized
the need for wellness screenings and informative health presentations,
especially vital to visitors to the
senior center. Hoag now offers regular blood pressure and hearing checks, along with
a variety of wellness presentations, allowing Huntington Beach seniors
to seek wellness services in a convenient setting on a consistent basis,
keeping good health top of mind.
Hoag’s continuum of care in Huntington Beach caters to residents
of all ages.
Hoag Health Center Huntington Beach has become a hub for primary and specialty care, imaging, lab, physical
therapy and more. From newborns who “meet” their pediatrician
for their first official well check at
Hoag Medical Group Pediatrics, to adults who can visit their
primary care physician on one floor and get their labs and visit a specialist on the next –
offering outpatient services all under the same roof is a commitment that
Hoag takes seriously.
“We recognize that there is more to a healthy community than being
a health care provider for the sick and that is why we are dedicated to
providing Huntington Beach with the resources to stay active and healthy,” said
Hoag President and CEO, Robert T. Braithwaite, and proud alum of the Huntington Beach school system.
Hoag opened its first health center in Surf City in 1991. Since then, Hoag
has doubled the size of Hoag Health Center Huntington Beach to nearly
100,000-square-feet, adding more than 70 Hoag-affiliated physicians in
nearly 20 specialties.
“Our goal is to provide patients access to more preventative and
specialized medicine right in their own community,” said
Subbarao Myla, M.D., program director of Hoag Cardiac Catheterization Labs, who opened an additional office at Hoag Health Center Huntington Beach
to bring specialized cardiac care closer to home for the residents of
Huntington Beach.
Later this year, Hoag will open a
Hoag Medical Group office in the Huntington Harbour area, providing access to urgent and
primary care for North Huntington Beach and Seal Beach residents.

Hoag has long embraced the Huntington Beach values of family, tradition
and community. Many of our employees are Huntington Beach residents and
we are proud to support our community by celebrating with a float in the
Fourth of July Parade each year, welcoming seniors at the Senior Saturday
event, and sponsoring services including the Alzheimer’s Family
Center for adult day care. We strive to be good neighbors to families
in Huntington Beach, as well as a lifelong partner in health.
