Dr. Leah Nakamura
Dr. Leah Nakamura became physician advisor to the Hoag Pelvic Health Program
in 2017 and was instrumental in the development of the program from its
early stages. As physician advisor, her role is to further develop the
program to gather and publish functional outcomes as well as work in collaboration
with referring physicians and specialists to ensure coordinated care for
their patients. Her goal is to provide patients with access to all they
need to improve their pelvic health and quality of life.
She is board certified in Urology and Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive
Surgery and has been in practice in Orange County since 2014. Prior to
this, she completed a fellowship in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive
Surgery at UCLA and a urology residency at the Mayo Clinic Arizona. She
was born and raised in Kaneohe, Hawaii and received her bachelor’s
degree in Biology and medical degree from the University of Hawaii.
She has special interests in incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, voiding
dysfunction, and pelvic pain.
