Grand Opening of Hoag Health Center Irvine Creates a Health Care Village

IRVINE, Calif., September 17, 2016 — Hoag Health Center Irvine celebrated its official grand opening today, introducing the community to the latest innovative concept in comprehensive care: the “health care village.”

Making it easier than ever for individuals and families to access Hoag’s renowned services and programs, the thoughtfully designed Hoag Health Center Irvine provides a rich array of specialized and comprehensive health care services such as women’s health and cancer care that complement the acute care services across the street at Hoag Hospital Irvine.

The result is a health care village that provides the highest quality services ever made available in Irvine in a setting that ensures convenience and easy access to world-class care.

“Among its many enviable qualities, Irvine is revered for its well-designed villages, admired for their innovation and excellent quality of life,” said Marcy Brown, vice president of Hoag Hospital Irvine and Ambulatory Services. “When Hoag set out to create the future of health care delivery, we drew inspiration from these villages and created an unparalleled community approach to health.”

On the corner of Alton and Sand Canyon, the 150,000+ square-foot Hoag Health Center Irvine provides access for individuals and families in Irvine and surrounding communities to Hoag’s renowned specialized services and providers, including those connected with Hoag Family Cancer Institute, Jeffrey M. Carlton Heart and Vascular Institute, Pickup Family Neurosciences Institute and Hoag Women’s Health Institute.

  • Hoag Family Cancer Institute brings patients a full range of advanced cancer therapies, as well as access to new investigational treatments, through an alliance with USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center. Hoag Cancer Center Irvine offers multispecialty cancer care, along with chemotherapy and infusion services, radiation oncology, hereditary counseling, oncology physician specialists, nurse navigation, access to clinical research and other support services.

“Working with residents and city officials, we heard repeatedly that Irvine is in need of world-class specialized services closer to home,” Brown said. “We listened, and Hoag Health Center Irvine is our response.”

The new state-of-the-art center also features a 7,200 square-foot building that houses King’s Pharmacy and Compounding Center, as well as Hoag Urgent Care managed by Hoag Medical Group and a café, which is coming soon.

“Hoag Irvine has become a prime destination for health care for Irvine residents and beyond, and this expansion builds upon that,” Brown said. “Working together, Hoag and Irvine are building a patient-centric model of heath care for the city that will likely inform the way the rest of the county – and possibly the country – approaches health care.”
