Elvia Escamilla, MSW, holds a Master’s in Social Work with a concentration in Integrated Health from California State University, Long Beach. Elvia helped pilot the Hoag Mental Health Center’s Psychiatry program in 2016 providing psychiatric case management. Elvia currently serves as a Care Manager for Hoag’s Mental Health Center facilitating intakes and assessments for Orange County community members that are low-income, uninsured, and underinsured. Elvia has experience in working with children and adults providing psychoeducation, and resource-brokering services within medical and clinical settings for the last 7 years. Throughout her career, Elvia has gained experience in providing in-home visitation services, working with domestic violence and human trafficking survivors, and tailoring services to meet an individual’s specific needs. Elvia is passionate about bridging the gaps in healthcare inequities by helping community members access quality services with culturally competent providers. Elvia is a strong advocate for improving healthcare knowledge within the community to further reduce healthcare disparities within marginalized communities most affected by these inequities. Elvia is multilingual, fluent in English, Spanish, and proficient in French.
