As Neurosurgical Physician Assistant to Dr. Adam Kanter, Gina is dedicated to providing the highest quality and least invasive options to treat disorders of the spine. Together, their practice focuses on utilizing minimally invasive surgical techniques, including lateral access surgery to ensure optimal outcomes for patients. With over 18 years of experience in neurosurgery and clinical neurology, Gina’s unwavering commitment to patient care is the foundation of her work as a Neurosurgical Physician Assistant.
Gina earned her bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology & Athletic Training from California State University Long Beach and master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Western University in Pomona, CA.
Gina’s passion for neurosurgery stems from a deeply personal experience as a participant in her father’s courageous battle with a malignant brain tumor; a fight he ultimately lost. This inspired her to strive for excellence in her field and provide patients with the highest standard of compassionate care and treatment options available. She additionally has served as an Advanced Practice Provider Course Director and Speaker for the AANS / CNS Section on Disorders of the Spine and Peripheral Nerve Annual Meetings. Gina is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS), Society of Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery (SMISS), American Association of Physician Assistants (AAPA) and California Association of Physician Assistants (CAPA).
