Hoag Recognized as One of America's 100 Best Hospitals by Women's Choice Award®

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. – October 7, 2014 – Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian has received the 2014 Women’s Choice Award for being voted one of America’s Best Hospitals for Patient Experience by women. This distinction is the only award that identifies the country’s best healthcare institutions based on robust criteria that consider female patient satisfaction and what women say they want from a hospital including quality physician communications, responsiveness of nurses and support staff, cleanliness and trusted referrals from other women.

Women’s Choice Award also recognized Hoag as one of America’s Best Hospitals in Heart Care and America’s Best Hospitals for Obstetrics.

“We provide women, seeking peace of mind for their health care, with a trusted third party endorsement based on hospital experiences reported by women in their community. As one of the America’s Best Hospitals for Patient Experience, Obstetrics and Heart Care, Hoag meets the toughest standards of excellence set by women,” states Delia Passi, CEO and founder of the Women’s Choice Award, and former publisher of Working Woman and Working Mother magazines.

Being named and recognized as a hospital of choice among women represents the strongest and most important consumer message in today’s health care marketplace considering that women account for 90% of all health care decisions for her and her family (American Academy of Family Physicians). When patients have a highly engaged, positive experience with their hospital, it’s a win-win situation. Hospital reputation is everything according to a study by the National Research Corporation Market Insights Survey, the largest healthcare consumer survey in the U.S.

“Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian is proud to have been named among the America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Patient Experience, Heart Care and Obstetrics by WomenCertified®,” said Robert Braithwaite, president and CEO of Hoag. “For more than 60 years, Hoag has been dedicated to providing a combination of world-class innovation and community-bred compassion. This award validates our vision and is a badge of honor for our physicians, nurses and staff who stand committed to the community we serve.”
