Hoag Opens Infusion Center in Irvine to Bring Important Service Closer to South County Patients

IRVINE, Calif. July 14, 2014 – Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian and Hoag Family Cancer Institute today are excited to announce the opening of the Hoag Infusion Center in Irvine, in the medical building connected to Hoag Hospital Irvine. The new Infusion Center is located at 16300 Sand Canyon Ave, Suite 504.

The center, which is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., serves patients in Irvine and the surrounding area in need of cancer or non-cancer infusions for neurology, infectious disease, nephrology, endocrinology, rheumatology and a host of other illnesses. The center does not immediately offer chemotherapy but does serve the great number of cancer patients in the Irvine area who are in need of other infusion services, such as pain management, antibiotics and side effects management.

“While infusion services are still offered at Hoag’s Newport Beach campus, this new center is aimed at bringing an important medical service closer to South County patients to provide ease and convenience,” said Burton Eisenberg, M.D., Executive Medical Director, Hoag Family Cancer Institute and Grace E. Hoag Executive Medical Director Endowed Chair.

“About 20% of the patients who come to Newport Beach for infusion services travel from Irvine. We’re moving the care closer to their home. It is what the community wants, and what it needs,” Eisenberg said.

The center represents Hoag’s commitment to improving the health of all of Orange County. Patients wishing to make appointments or who have questions about the Hoag Infusion Center in Irvine can call 949-722-6237.
