Nobody understands your body the way you do, and no one understands breast health like Hoag. That is why our Women’s Health Institute has opened a breast center in your neighborhood that is designed to put you in control of your health.
Hoag Breast Center at Hoag Health Center Irvine – Sand Canyon, like its counterpart in Newport Beach, gives women access to specialized, dedicated breast radiologists who use emerging technologies to diagnose breast cancer at its earliest stage. The Irvine location also offers Hoag’s advanced treatment options by leaders in the field of breast cancer.
Our goal is to empower women to take an active role in the direction of their own breast care.
In order to do that better, Hoag Breast Program has three breast centers and seven imaging sites throughout the county, including Irvine, to give women convenient access to Hoag-quality care in their own neighborhoods.
Hoag is the highest-volume breast center in Orange County and provides unmatched experience, care and compassion. Our individualized, comprehensive approach to breast care provides industry-leading services from early risk assessment and screening to second opinions and supportive care.
The new Irvine center offers women a comprehensive approach to breast health. Our nurse navigators help lead a woman through the entire process of screening, diagnosis, treatment and beyond, acting as her advocate and sounding board.
Hoag Breast Center Irvine also has a keen focus on preventative health through the Hoag Early Risk Assessment (HERA) Program with private one-on-one consultations with a high-risk breast cancer nurse practitioner who can provide individualized breast cancer risk assessments and risk reduction consultations.
Our new center also gives South County women access to Hoag’s advanced screening technology closer to home. Hoag was one of the first centers in the state to offer Breast Tomosynthesis (3D Mammography) and was one of 11 original test sites nationwide for FDA approval for the technology. Hoag is also one of the first hospitals in the area to offer breast MRI.
Hoag’s commitment to providing the highest quality breast health has earned the hospital several national awards, including recognition as Orange County’s first and only Certified Quality Breast Center of Excellence by the National Consortium of Breast Centers.
