Hoag Announces Expansion of High-Quality, Community-Based Health Care with Plans for New Center at The Village at Tustin Legacy

TUSTIN, Calif., October 21, 2015 — Building on its commitment to bring accessible, high-quality health and wellness services to Orange County residents, Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian today announced plans for a new 60,000-square-foot medical office building at The Village at Tustin Legacy.

Named Hoag Health Center Tustin, the community-based center will be part of the 22-acre retail center The Village at Tustin Legacy, which is currently being developed by Regency Centers, a national builder, owner and operator of retail centers. Plans for The Village at Tustin Legacy, located next to the Columbus Square neighborhood off Edinger Avenue and Tustin Ranch Road, include a grocery store, pharmacy, daycare center and more.

“With a growing demand for health care services in the Tustin community, our world-class health center will be an important amenity not only for the new residents of the Tustin Legacy Project, but the entire City of Tustin,” said Robert T. Braithwaite, president and CEO of Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian. “Since it was founded more than 60 years ago, Hoag has proudly served the Orange County community. A key part of that service involves bringing high-quality health care closer to home for residents, and we are excited to continue to fulfill that commitment by opening our first Tustin-based health center.”

“We welcome Hoag’s further expansion into Tustin with great anticipation for our city. Hoag’s services and health care professionals will be important additions to the quality of life for residents of Tustin Legacy as well as the surrounding community of Tustin. Hoag embodies the forward-thinking ideas of the future of the health care industry,” said Chuck Puckett, Mayor of Tustin.

“Hoag Health Center Tustin will join our existing network of Hoag Health Centers, which are important access points for residents seeking health care services from the St. Joseph Hoag Health network,” said Braithwaite. ”Collectively we are able to give thousands of families and individuals in our communities easy access to St. Joseph Hoag Health’s outstanding hospitals, health centers, urgent cares and other facilities, as well as our renowned physicians, nurses, wellness educators and other professionals.”

Braithwaite said the full range of services to be provided at Hoag Health Center Tustin are still being determined, and will be based on specific identified needs of the community.

Other Hoag community-based health center locations include Huntington Beach, Costa Mesa, Aliso Viejo, Newport Beach and Irvine. A third Irvine location is scheduled to open in spring 2016.
