In honor of Heart Awareness Month, Hoag will be hosting Heart Healthy Huntington Beach, a community health fair on Saturday, Feb. 21, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Hoag Health Center – Huntington Beach.
Attendees of all ages are invited to attend a day of heart healthy education and activities. Some of the highlights of the event include a town hall discussion with renowned Hoag medical professionals; physician-led presentations on a variety of heart health topics; complimentary health screenings including blood pressure and oxygen saturation screenings by Hoag physicians; and children’s activities including an obstacle course, face painting, and an interactive nutritional presentation.
With cardiovascular disease being the leading cause of death in the United States, Hoag hopes to raise awareness for the disease and inspire the community to lead a heart healthy lifestyle.
Who: Hoag Cardiologist Subbarao Myla, M.D., Medical Director of Cardiac and Endovascular Labs and Cardiovascular Research at the Jeffrey M. Carlton Heart and Vascular Institute at Hoag, will moderate a Heart Healthy Lifestyle panel discussion at 10 a.m. with medical professionals including:
