NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., July 10, 2018 --- Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian announced David Ahn, M.D., as the program
director of the
Mary & Dick Allen Diabetes Center at Hoag. In his new role, Dr. Ahn will participate in research and provide clinical
oversight in outpatient and inpatient environments, as well as other programmatic
opportunities.

HMTS. “His passion for patient care will significantly contribute

living with diabetes and those at risk for diabetes.”
Dr. Ahn, an endocrinologist specializing in diabetes and metabolism, most
recently served as an Assistant Clinical Professor at UCLA Medical Center.
Born and raised in Southern California, Dr. Ahn received both his undergraduate
and medical school training at UC San Diego. After completing an internal
medicine residency at Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego, he returned
to UC San Diego to complete his fellowship in Endocrinology. Dr. Ahn is
a renowned expert in the field and is passionate about utilizing medical
technology and mobile devices to empower and improve the health and wellness
of people living with diabetes and other chronic conditions.
In addition to welcoming Dr. Ahn, the Mary & Dick Allen Diabetes Center
has also expanded into Irvine with a second location at
Hoag Health Center Irvine - Woodbridge (4870 Barranca Parkway). Offering clinical, educational and support services
designed to meet the needs of the community, the Irvine location currently
features innovative and customized programs like the Ueberroth Program
for Women with Diabetes (Sweet Success) to help prevent and manage gestational
diabetes during pregnancy, the “Healthy Lifestyle Program,”
a team-based weight management program that integrates personalized nutrition,
exercise and behavioral change plans for people with prediabetes, and
Type 1 / Type 2 Diabetes Self-Management Education and Support.
