Having opened in November 2010, Hoag Orthopedic Institute is the result of years of planning by a highly specialized and experienced team of Board-Certified orthopedic physicians in Orange County and the best hospital in Orange County, Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian. Together we have developed a patient-centered, value-based facility dedicated to the orthopedic patient.

Hoag Orthopedic Institute grounds were designed to create a restful, healing environment for patients. Gardens were installed throughout the campus for patients' enjoyment and to aid in healing, creating an atmosphere entirely focused on wellness.

General Information

The Information Desk is located inside the main entrance. Attendants are available to assist with room direction and other information.

Patient Billing

A customer service representative is available in the Hoag Orthopedic Institute Registration area Monday through Friday, 5 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. to answer specific financial questions or to receive a payment.


Hoag is a smoke, vapor and tobacco-free campus. No smoking is allowed.

Automatic Teller Machines (ATM's)

ATM's are available in cafeteria.

Concerns or Questions

If there is a concern regarding patient care, please notify the patient's caregiver or a supervisor. If you would like to speak with a representative during regular business hours, please contact 949-727-5099. If you need immediate assistance after regular business hours, contact the charge nurse or nurse supervisor. They can be reached by calling 949-764-HOAG (4624).

We understand the importance of visitors for our patients' emotional, mental and spiritual well-being. Visiting hours are open with quiet healing time from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. and after 9 p.m., to allow time for our patients to rest and restore themselves. Therefore family, friends and clergy may visit whenever they wish. Please be advised, however, that visitors may be asked by staff to leave, especially if a patient needs rest. Any visitor with symptoms or signs of a communicable illness or disease should not visit the hospital. Also, any visitor (including children) should keep noise levels at a reasonable volume.


There are several waiting areas on the first floor, as well as rest areas in the Hoag Café on the lower level.

Hoag's Gift Galleria features an array of specialty items including cards, magazines, clothing, fresh flowers and snacks. The Gift Galleria is located on the Lobby Level near the staircase going down to the Cafe.

Orders can be placed by phone for floral arrangements, baby gifts, clothing.

There are several nearby hotels and short-term lodging facilities in Newport Beach and Irvine. Family members of patients at Hoag can also receive a special rate at some of the local hotels.

Parking, which is free to all visitors, is conveniently located in front of the hospital along with a drive-through dropoff. Click here for directions.

Valet Parking

A valet program is available Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m., at the Hoag Hospital Irvine entrance. The program is available to patients and visitors for Hoag Hospital Irvine and Hoag Orthopedic Institute.

Rates are as follows:

  • 0-4 hours: $4
  • 4 - 24 hours: $6
  • There is a 3-day maximum rate of $18

All payments will be processed through the Flash Valet program, regardless if a participant uses the text message (SMS function). Participants who wish to pay in cash will be sent to the Cashier’s office during operating hours. Cash will not be accepted if the Cashier’s office is closed.

Participants who need to retrieve their vehicle after 4 p.m. can do so by calling Security at 949-279-8031 to pick up their keys.

Flash Valet Program

Flash Valet is a system that manages valet retrieval requests and payments through text messages (SMS). This system improves the overall parking experience by reducing lines for valet services as well as the payment kiosks

Flash Valet is easy and can be done in the following steps:

1. Valet will provide the guest with a ticket upon arrival.

2. When ready to depart, the guest will text his/her ticket number to the phone number provided on the valet ticket. Phone numbers are hidden at all times from valet attendants to protect the privacy of anyone using Flash Valet.

3. The guest will receive a text message with a link to pay with any credit/debit card or PayPal account. All payments will be processed directly through Hoag. The valet will let the guest know when his/her car is ready through a text message.

5. Valet guests have the option to do a 1 click customer experience survey as well for real time feedback.
