ARU had highest patient experience of NPS 98.3% YTD

The institute advanced movement disorders treatment while securing Innovator funding to support the addition of MR-Guided Focused Ultrasound (fUS) to Hoag’s treatment arsenal enabling groundbreaking, incisionless, anesthesia-free treatment for tremors. Simultaneously, Hoag became one of only 15 hospitals nationwide involved in clinical trials to use fUS to open the blood-brain barrier for the treatment of brain tumors.

Hoag’s stroke program successfully completed the DNV comprehensive survey in both Newport Beach and Irvine hospitals, achieving Get With The Guidelines Stroke Gold Plus and Target Stroke Honor Roll Elite recognition. Affirming its delivery of high-quality stroke care, Hoag also became the first hospital in California to successfully implement a device designed to improve swallowing function in stroke patients with severe neurogenic dysphagia.

Hoag’s skull base and pituitary brain tumor program reached its 10-year anniversary of excellence and completed its 1,000th surgical case.

Hoag’s concussion program hosted a transformational symposium featuring renowned national experts to help Hoag in its development of a destination center of excellence, involving the addition of a dedicated concussion navigator and assembling a multidisciplinary consortium of providers to deliver integrated care across the Hoag ecosystem.
