Hoag elects three new Board Members

Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian today announced that it has elected three new Board members with extensive experience in the health care and financial sectors. Leslie Margolin, Karen Linden, R.N., and George Wood, CFA, will begin October 2011.
“We are fortunate to have these three, very experienced individuals join our Board of Directors, and look forward to their contributions to Hoag,” said Richard M. Afable, M.D., Hoag’s president and chief executive officer. “Their breadth of experience and expertise will greatly benefit Hoag as we continue to deliver the utmost in quality care to our patients.”
 
Karen Linden, R.N., from Newport Beach, served as a medical-surgical nurse with Sunrise Humana Hospital and Desert Springs Community Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada for nine years, as well as an orthopedic operating nurse and public health nurse in previous positions. She became involved with the Hoag Family Cancer Institute Circle 1000? annual campaign in 2002.
 

Leslie Margolin, a resident of Pasadena, has worked to improve the quality, safety, efficiency, accessibility and affordability of health care for 27 years. She has worked with top health care organizations such as Anthem Blue Cross (California) and Kaiser Permanente, and established her own company, The Margolin Group™, to drive meaningful and sustainable improvements in cost, quality and safety in health care.
 
George Wood, of Laguna Beach, serves as an executive vice president with Pacific Investment Management Company (PIMCO), where he works with a variety of clients in health care, foundation & endowments, public plans and corporate ventures. He has been with the firm for 15 years and has a long career of financial management.
