The Allen Diabetes Center Proudly Welcomes Dr. Daniel Nadeau

The Allen Diabetes Center is honored to announce Dr. Daniel Nadeau as its new program director starting December 2013. Dr.Daniel Nadeau is the first recipient of the Kris V. Iyer, MD Endowed Chair in Diabetes Care and an accomplished physician who brings a wealth of knowledge to the areas of diabetes, obesity, and nutrition. He has extensive experience and measurable results building diabetes centers from the ground up through cutting edge research, program expansion, a focus on insulin pump therapy, and diabetes team development. Dr.Daniel Nadeau has also successfully changed the landscape of diabetes care through educational efforts including speaking, publishing in scientific journals, and media appearances. For example, he has recently appeared on CNN discussing nutrition and diabetes. In his dual role at Hoag, he will contribute his expertise to Mary & Dick Allen Diabetes Center as program director and Endocrinologist at Hoag Medical Group.

Highlights include:

  • Board Certified, American Board of Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism
  • Dr.Daniel Nadeau received his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine and also earned a master’s degree in nutrition from Tufts University School of Nutrition.
  • He completed a fellowship in endocrinology at the University of Vermont and an Internal Medicine residency at the Medical Center Hospital of Vermont.
  • Dr.Daniel Nadeau served as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Tufts Medical School and Medical Director of Diabetes, Endocrinology and Nutrition at Exeter Hospital in New Hampshire and Eastern Maine Medical Center in Maine.
  • He recently co-authored a book on nutrition entitled The Color Code: A Revolutionary Eating Plan for Optimum Health.
  • He is the recipient of the National Research Service Award from the National Institutes of Health.
