  • Hoag Addiction Treatment Centers Care Coordinator

Susie has more than 20 years of experience working and training in the field of addiction in Acute and Sub- Acute settings inclusive of; Detox, Residential, IOP, Legal program and Extended Care dual diagnosis programs. She has worked with adolescents, adults and children of adult clients. Susie has worked as an Interventionist, Clinical Supervisor, Intake Specialist, Sexual Assault Crisis Advocate and has done Domestic Violence counseling. Susie says: “I enjoy working to help families come together and heal. When the clients understand how to fight the ‘enemy of addiction’ by learning to love themselves become awake to see and share how they have been affected by the disease. As the family members come out of their denial and begin to address their need as well it is exciting to watch families come together. When young children attend multi-family group or conjoint counseling sessions and speak the truth and talk about the “white elephant” hearts open, defenses drop and healing begins. Then the children have a better chance not to repeat the cycle of addiction.”
