Janell Griggs, M.S.N., R.N., is the Executive Director of Nursing Services.
In this role, she works closely with the Senior Vice President of Clinical
Operations/Chief Nursing Officer to oversee nursing operations, services,
and programs.
Ms. Griggs has been a proud member of the Hoag family since January of
2006. Prior to assuming her current role, she was Director of Nursing
for the inpatient Pulmonary and Oncology departments at Hoag Hospital
Newport Beach for two years, and previously served as a Charge Nurse from
2009 to 2016.
Ms. Griggs has been actively involved in the bedside-to-boardroom process
at Hoag for nursing initiatives that promote patient safety, quality outcomes,
and nurse satisfaction. She has presented outcomes at the Western Institute
of Nursing Conference, and has also served on the planning committee for the
Hoag Embracing Excellence in Oncology Nursing Practice conference for the past three years.
Ms. Griggs earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences
from the University of California, Santa Barbara and her Master of Science
in Nursing with an emphasis in Leadership in Health Care Systems from
Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona. She is a Certified Medical-Surgical
Nurse as awarded by the Medical Surgical Nursing Certification Board,
and a member of the American Nurses Association, Academy of Medical-Surgical
Nurses, and Association of California Nurse Leaders.
