Visitor screening is being employed at Hoag Hospital to provide the safest possible environment for our patients, staff and visitors. Upon entering the hospital, visitors over the age of 14 will be screened. Please be prepared to show your driver’s licenses or other government identification when entering the hospital. Hoag is a weapons free campus. Weapons of any kind, including pocket knives, are prohibited on campus.
Hoag will no longer be limiting the number of visitors except for in the following areas:

Newport Beach and IrvineOpen visitation except during the hours of 7 AM to 8 AM and 7 PM to 8 PM. Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Special Care Nursery - Visitors (not parents) are restricted from the unit during hand-off report times from 6:30 AM to 7:30 AM and 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM.
Children of all ages are allowed to visit when accompanied by an adult 18 years of age or older except for in the NICU and Special Care Nursery. Children are not permitted to visit patients in isolation.
Visitors have access to the hospital cafeteria.
Visitors who are ill are not allowed.
Patients with respiratory symptoms will be asked to wear a mask.
The Information Desk is located inside the main entrance. Attendants are available to assist with room direction and other information.
A customer service representative is available to answer specific financial questions or to receive a payment Monday through Friday in the lobby of the Women’s Pavilion. Telephones/Cellular phones and pagers may be used in the hospital except in the critical care areas (ICU, CCU, CVICU and Sub ICU).
The Hoag Campus is smoke-free – no smoking is allowed.
ATMs are available in the convenience center in the cafeteria and on the main floor next to the Health Resource Center.
US Mail drop boxes and stamp machines are located at the main entrance of the hospital and in the convenience center.
If there is a concern regarding patient care, please notify the caregiver or a supervisor. Patient Relations representatives can assist with patient rights, problems or concerns.
The Patient Relations staff is available from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday at (949) 764-8220.
If you need immediate assistance after regular business hours, contact the charge nurse or nurse supervisor. They can be reached by calling the hospital operator at (949) 764-HOAG (4624).
As a patient at Hoag Hospital, you have certain rights and responsibilities that are inherent in your health care. Hospitals that achieve accreditation and licensure are required to submit to formalized, comprehensive evaluations by on-site surveyors who assess compliance with health, quality and safety standards and regulations. These surveys are conducted regularly and involve participation from the entire hospital organization.
Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian is licensed by the State of California Department of Health Services.The State of California requires hospitals to be licensed by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH). An on-site survey is conducted to assess compliance with state and federal regulations. The survey includes physical plant evaluation, kitchen and dietary services, patient care, pharmacy services, and other areas that effect patient care.
Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian is recognized by CMS as meeting the Medicare standards. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) has developed Conditions of Participation (CoPs) that health care organizations must meet to participate in the Medicare and Medicaid programs. These standards are used to improve quality and protect the health and safety of beneficiaries. CMS also ensures that the standards of accrediting organizations recognized by CMS (through a process called “deeming”) meet or exceed Medicare standards.

Hoag may share your immunization or tuberculosis (TB) screening test records with the California Immunization Registry (CAIR), a statewide, secure and confidential database of patient immunization information. The CAIR is used by health care professionals, agencies, and schools to keep track of all shots and TB tests you take, and can provide proof about immunizations needed to start child care, school, or a new job. If you do not want your immunization or TB records to be shared with other registry users, please fax or email the “Decline or Start Sharing/Immunization Information Request Form,” available on the CAIR website at http://cairweb.org/cair-forms/, to the CAIR Help Desk at 1 (888) 436-8320 or CAIRHelpDesk@cdph.ca.gov.

Self-parking rates apply to the P1 Dolphin Structure near the Sue & Bill Gross Women’s Pavilion, the top level of the P2 South Structure near the Jeffrey M. Carlton Heart & Vascular Institute, and the Conference Center Structure. Please be aware that the top level of the P2 South Structure and the Jeffrey M. Carlton Heart & Vascular Institute entrance are for Heart and Vascular patients only until further notice.

Select departments offer validation as follows:
Fimiano Emergency Department and Obstetrics Emergency Department patients with current armband or discharge papers receive a $3 discount for valet or self-parking.
Breast Center outpatients, including mammography patients, receive complimentary self-parking.
Active participants in the Hoag Addiction Treatment Centers (HATC) program & outpatients/alumni receive complimentary self-parking with validation.
Fetal Diagnostic patients receive complimentary self-parking with validation.
NICU parents receive complimentary self-parking.
SOS patients receive complimentary self-parking.
Patients may either use self-parking or the Emergency Department (ED) valet, which is open 24 hours a day. ED or Obstetrics ED patients with a current armband or discharge papers receive a $3 discount from posted self-parking and valet rates.
Patients and visitors who are at the hospital for a week or longer, or who make frequent visits may wish to purchase a long-term self-parking pass. The following passes are available:

Change will be available for cash payments.Patients and visitors who have parked in the Conference Center Structure or the top level of the P2 South Structure near the Jeffrey M. Carlton Heart & Vascular Institute must pay at the exit gate by credit or debit card only. No cash is accepted.
Parking for Hospitalized Patients
If you are admitted to the hospital, you may park in the P1 Dolphin Structure, P2 South Structure or use valet parking. Standard self-parking and valet rates apply. Validations are available for select departments as outlined above.
Parking for Disabled Patients and Visitors
Parking stalls for patients and visitors with valid disabled parking placards are located throughout Hoag. Individuals with ADA placards receive a $2 discount for valet.
Valet service is a flat rate of $9 for up to four hours and $12 for four hours to 24 hours.Emergency Department and Obstetrics Emergency Department patients with a current armband or discharge papers receive a $3 discount from posted valet rates.The maximum rate for valet is $36 for patients or visitors with a length of stay greater than three days wherein the vehicle remains parked for three days or greater.

Flash Valet is a system that manages valet retrieval requests and payments through text messages (SMS). This system improves the overall parking experience by reducing lines for valet services as well as the payment kiosks.
Flash Valet is easy and can be done in the following steps:
Valet will provide the guest with a ticket upon arrival.
When ready to depart, the guest will text his/her ticket number to the phone number provided on the valet ticket. Phone numbers are hidden at all times from valet attendants to protect the privacy of anyone using Flash Valet.
The guest will receive a text message with a link to pay with any credit/debit card or PayPal account. The $3 ED and OB ED discount can be processed through Flash Valet as well. All payments will be processed directly through Hoag. Those guests preferring to pay cash or credit at the valet stand still have the option to do so.
The valet will let the guest know when his/her car is ready through a text message.
Valet guests have the option to do a 1 click customer experience survey as well for real time feedback.
All patients and visitors will enter through the new front doors near the covered entrance.
Check-in locations will remain the same by service. Signage and staff will be available to guide you upon arrival.

For added convenience, valet parking is offered in three locations: the main entrance, Surgical Pavilion, and the Emergency Department. Our professional attendants provide quick, secure service to make your arrival and departure as seamless as possible. Cars can be retrieved from any location, regardless of drop-off location.
