    Young Adult Mental Health Program

    (949) 557-0077

The Hoag Young Adult Program is an 8-week, skills-based experience for adults 18–28 navigating emotions, isolation, and uncertainty. Our small-group sessions help build tools for regulation, social effectiveness, and resilience. No judgment, just support.

Being a young adult today is harder than ever—58% say they lack a sense of purpose, and nearly half feel the weight of a world that seems to be unraveling. Whether you’re the one facing these struggles or a parent watching your child navigate them, our Young Adult Mental Health program offers the guidance, tools, and support needed to find stability and hope.

    Program Structure

Our young adult program focuses on building essential coping and social-emotional skills to better navigate their depression, anxiety, mood dysregulation, and more. Review a sample of our curriculum to see how our approach is different.

Finding your way through stress, anxiety, depression, or bipolar disorder can feel overwhelming—but you don’t have to do it alone. We’ve gathered trusted resources designed for young adults, offering practical tools and support to help you take the next step toward balance and well-being

    Skills-Based Learning

Led by a team of experts, this accredited treatment program equips young adults ages 18 to 28 with tools to learn coping strategies and how to build healthy relationships. In a supportive, in-person, small group setting, participants will meet three days a week for eight consecutive weeks. Just like physical health, the sooner a mental health or emotional concern is identified and addressed, the better the outcome.

    What You'll Gain

By the end of the program, you can expect to: understand and manage your emotions instead of feeling controlled by them; feel more connected and confident in your relationships; replace harmful coping habits with healthier strategies; increase focus and motivation for school, work, or life goals; gain a stronger sense of self, direction, and purpose; create strategies for managing future anxieties or stressors.

    Our Approach

Utilizing Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, our experts help young adults to better take on day to day stresses and pitfalls that are common in their current stage of life. By working in a group setting, participants will be able to build relationship skills, which can improve effectiveness in school, work, and interpersonal situations. With the help of our experienced interdisciplinary treatment team, participants will learn to navigate the challenges of this transitional stage by: improving their sense of self and incorporating strategies related to emotional regulation and distress tolerance; learning and applying effective coping skills to their day to day lives; establishing and maintaining healthy relationships with not only themselves but with family members, friends and the community; and helping them build their own identity.

Support, Skills and a Place to be Yourself

Our Young Adult Mental Health program is an 8-week Intensive Outpatient Program that meets four afternoons per week, helping young adults develop essential coping strategies and social-emotional skills when they need it most. This is an interactive, educational classroom setting designed to be collaborative. This program is not group therapy; it’s educational skill coaching.
