Sumeyra Y. Yucelen

A deep commitment to compassionate care began early for Dr. Yucelen. As a child, she watched her family care for her grandparents and saw firsthand the profound difference thoughtful, attentive medical support could make in someone’s life. That experience sparked her passion for helping others and ultimately guided her toward a career in medicine.

Encouraged by an influential high school biology teacher who recognized both her scientific curiosity and natural empathy, Dr. Yucelen pursued medicine with a strong sense of purpose. His guidance reinforced her belief that compassion, patience, and knowledge are essential qualities in a physician.

As an internal medicine physician, Dr. Yucelen values the specialty’s comprehensive perspective, allowing her to care for the whole person with a strong emphasis on prevention, early detection, and evidence-based treatment. She believes every patient deserves respectful, holistic care grounded in clear communication, education, and collaboration, and she is dedicated to building long-term relationships that empower patients throughout their health journey.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Yucelen enjoys spending quality time with her family and maintaining an active lifestyle through tennis, yoga, strength training, and walking. She also loves cooking for her family and creating meaningful moments around the table.
