Shirley Yu

For Dr. Yu, medicine struck the ideal balance between scientific problem-solving and meaningful connection with people. Growing up with two parents who were scientists, she developed an early curiosity about science that would shape her path. She ultimately chose family medicine for its variety and for the chance to be a patient's first point of contact—someone who knows their story and can guide their care over time. 

Dr. Yu describes herself as steady, and she values getting to know her patients well enough to understand their health beyond any single symptom or concern. By combining clinical thinking with genuine relationships, she's able to provide care that considers the whole person. 

Collaboration sits at the center of Dr. Yu's approach to patient care. She partners with patients to help them take an active role in their health, offering guidance grounded in evidence-based medicine, preventive care, and each patient's individual needs. 

Outside of medicine, Dr. Yu enjoys exploring the local food scene, traveling, playing tennis, and spending time with friends, family, and her pets. Having grown up in Orange County, she values staying connected to the people and community that have long been part of her life.
