Richard I. Ross

Dr. Richard Ian Ross is board certified in both Emergency Medicine and Primary Care Sports Medicine and has been a member of the Hoag Medical Staff since 2017. He graduated with honors from UC Irvine before earning his medical degree from the University of Maryland and completing his residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. Dr. Ross further specialized through a Sports Medicine fellowship at Stanford University/O'Connor Hospital.

A former competitive figure skater, Dr. Ross serves as a Team Physician for both U.S. Figure Skating and the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Team, providing rink-side and slope-side coverage for elite athletes globally. At Hoag, he serves as Pediatric Emergency Medicine Coordinator, acting as a vital liaison between Hoag and the Children's Hospital of Orange County. A member of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, Dr. Ross brings a unique blend of elite sports medicine expertise and compassionate emergency care to his patients.
