    About Dr Rafi S. Ahmed

    Bio

    Dr. Rafi Ahmed’s goal is to create a respectful, caring, and strong relationship with his patients during their cancer journey. He is triple board certified in internal medicine, hematology, and medical oncology. Dr. Ahmed practice includes general oncology and hematology with a focus on genitourinary cancer including high-risk prostate, bladder, kidney and testicular cancer. He strongly believes in the importance of a multidisciplinary approach to patient care with close collaboration with surgery and radiation oncology in the development of comprehensive treatment plans for his patients. Dr. Ahmed has been involved in cancer research throughout his career. In addition to having been published, he has participated in clinical trial enrollment. He was awarded the National Cancer Institute Community Clinical Oncology Program Silver Award certificate of excellence in recognition of his contributions to clinical trials and cancer research. Dr. Ahmed grew up in Chicago and graduated from the University of Chicago. He then attended the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California. He completed an internal medicine internship and residency at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center and subsequently completed his fellowship in hematology and medical oncology at Olive-View UCLA / Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Ahmed is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Society of Hematology, and the American College of Physicians. During his free time, Dr. Ahmed spends quality time with his wife and children and enjoys traveling.
