Michelle A. Quan

Michelle Quan, MD earned her medical degree from UCLA's David Geffen School of Medicine. She completed her Internal Medicine residency at UC Davis, where she went on to serve as Chief Medical Resident. She then practiced as an attending physician within the UC Davis Division of General Internal Medicine and at the Sacramento VA Medical Center, with a focus on medical education and quality improvement. Dr. Quan recently completed her fellowship training in Hospice and Palliative Medicine at UC San Diego/Scripps.

Dr. Quan was drawn to palliative medicine for the chance to care for the whole person during some of life's most difficult moments. She believes that even amid serious illness, patients and families deserve clarity, comfort, and dignity, and she is committed to providing that alongside her colleagues across Hoag's Palliative Care Department.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Dr. Quan enjoys yoga, long walks, and hosting dinner parties for friends and family outside of work.
