About Dr. Lincoln M. Snyder
Bio
Lincoln M. Snyder, MD is widely recognized for his patient‑focused and innovative approach to breast cancer care. He is known for combining collaborative, multidisciplinary treatment with a deep commitment to addressing the individual needs of each patient. Dr. Snyder practices exclusively at the Hoag Breast Care Center, where he served as the founding surgeon and inaugural Surgical Medical Director.
Throughout his career, Dr. Snyder has been an early innovator in numerous advances in breast cancer treatment, including breast conservation, the clinical and intraoperative use of ultrasound, sentinel lymph node biopsy, skin‑sparing mastectomy, and—working in collaboration with leading plastic and reconstructive surgeons—the adoption of advanced and extreme oncoplastic techniques to maximize breast preservation with aesthetic outcomes.
Dr. Snyder earned his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College, completed his surgical residency at the University of California, Irvine, and pursued a fellowship in Critical Care Medicine at the University of Minnesota. He conducted oncologic and microvascular research at UC Irvine and the Beckman Laser Institute. He additionally served as teaching faculty at UC Irvine. He is the author of a chapter in the first edition of Greenfield’s: Surgery, Scientific Principles and Practice, one of the most respected textbooks in the field. At Hoag, his clinical research has focused on sentinel lymph node sampling.
Dr. Snyder is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He has served as Chairman of the Department of Surgery at Hoag and as President of the Orange County Surgical Society. In recognition of his clinical excellence and leadership, he has been named a “Best Doctor in Orange County” by the Orange County Medical Association and Orange Coast Magazine.
