About Dr Kathryn P. Cardoza
Bio
Dr. Cardoza has always had a strong interest in science, and this coupled with a volunteer opportunity at a health clinic brought her to the realization that medicine was her calling. She decided to become a doctor because she knew that it would be intellectually stimulating, allow her to meaningfully contribute to her community and allow her to connect with others in a way that would challenge her to grow as a person.
She enjoys being in a field that is continuously evolving and allows for life-long learning, but it is the relationships with her patients that make her career meaningful. Getting to know her patients and their families, and what is important to them, is a privilege. She states, “I feel lucky to be able to be a part of their lives as they grow and navigate new challenges, and I love having the opportunity to support them through the ups and downs.”
She practices a collaborative approach to patient care. By developing an understanding of her patients’ experiences and values, she is able to work with them to create health care treatment plans that fit their values and lifestyle and make a longer-lasting impact on their well-being.
Dr. Cardoza received her medical degree from David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and completed her residency at Stanford Health Care. Prior to Hoag, Dr. Cardoza also served as an Assistant Professor at UCLA and Cedars-Sinai, and helped train resident physicians and medical students.
Outside of work, Dr. Cardoza enjoys practicing yoga, playing beach volleyball, paddle boarding, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
