Eric M. Alcouloumre

Dr. Eric Alcoulomre is board certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine and has practiced emergency medicine for 46 years. He is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians. He has been a member of the Hoag Medical Staff since 1986. Dr. Alcoulomre completed his residency and internship in Emergency Medicine at Los Angeles County + USC Medical Center. He earned his medical degree from the Oklahoma College of Medicine at the University of Oklahoma in Oklahoma City and completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Oklahoma in Norman. He currently serves as Chief Executive Officer of Emergency Physicians of Orange County and Chief of Service at Hoag Hospital, Newport Beach. He has served on numerous medical staff and hospital committees, has been on the Hoag Medical Executive Committee, and was a member of the Hoag Hospital Board of Directors from 2018 through 2024. Dr. Alcoulomre has held several academic and leadership roles throughout his career, including Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at Los Angeles County + USC Medical Center from 1983 to 1993. He served as a Board Examiner for the American Board of Emergency Medicine from 1988 to 1999 and as Director of Prehospital Care at Los Angeles County + USC Medical Center from 1983 to 1987. His honors include the Richard J. O'Neill Award for Excellence in Service (2020), recognition as one of Orange County's 100 Most Influential People (2020), and designation multiple times as an Orange County Physician of Excellence. Dr. Alcoulomre is committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based emergency care to the community.
