    About Dr Andy Y. Lee

    Bio

Dr. Lee specializes in advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology, with a focus on innovative therapies that support patients with complex and high-risk heart conditions. His background in electrical and biomedical engineering gives him a unique perspective on the technologies that power modern cardiovascular care. Originally planning to become an engineer like his father, Dr. Lee earned a degree in electrical engineering with a concentration in biomedical engineering from the University of Texas before pursuing medicine. His interest in applying technology to human physiology ultimately led him to cardiology, where cutting-edge devices and data-driven therapies play a critical role in restoring heart function. Dr. Lee is particularly passionate about advanced heart failure management, including mechanical circulatory support and emerging therapies designed to improve quality of life, reduce hospitalizations, and extend survival. He values developing individualized care plans that help patients regain strength, stability, and independence. Dr. Lee earned his medical degree from McGovern Medical School in Houston, Texas. He completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Southern California, followed by a cardiovascular disease fellowship at Baylor Scott & White Health in Dallas, Texas. He then completed an advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology fellowship at the University of Washington Medical Center. Outside of medicine, Dr. Lee enjoys traveling, spending time with his family, and cheering on Texas Longhorns football.
