    About Dr Aaron J. Przybysz

    Bio

    Aaron Przybysz (pronounced “Shib – ish”), M.D., Ph.D., is a double board-certified anesthesiologist and pain medicine physician, physician-scientist, and healthcare leader. At Hoag, he serves as the John L. Curci Family Endowed Chair in Pain Medicine, Division Chief of Pain Medicine, and Medical Director of the Center for Pain Management. Dr. Przybysz earned his Ph.D. in Pharmacology from Vanderbilt University and completed his Anesthesiology Residency and Pain Medicine Fellowship at the University of Michigan. His clinical and research interests focus on interventional pain management, neuromodulation, neuropathic pain, and the development of novel therapeutics. He currently serves as principal investigator for two clinical trials at Hoag evaluating emerging treatments for chronic knee pain and chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy. Dr. Przybysz also serves on the Medical Advisory Board of Mimetic Medicines and previously chaired the Data Safety Monitoring Board overseeing two Phase 2 clinical trials for Sorrento Therapeutics. His work bridges clinical medicine, scientific research, biotechnology, and healthcare leadership with the goal of advancing innovative treatments for patients with acute and chronic pain.
