Non-Invasive Elimination of Liver Tumors

Hoag is excited to be one of only two hospitals in California to offer Histotripsy by HistoSonics®. Histotripsy is a non-invasive, ultrasound technology that is used to eliminate targeted liver tumors at a sub-cellular level. The technology uses high amplitude, very short pulses to create a “bubble cloud.”

FibroScan Non-Invasive Diagnostic Tool

Hoag is the only hospital in Orange County to offer a state-of-the-art, non-invasive technology for liver screening called FibroScan®, the first device to be FDA-approved for diagnosing and managing patients with liver disease without the side effects or complications of a needle biopsy. This latest innovation is just one example of Hoag’s desire to provide world-class care right here in Orange County.

Advanced Endoscopy

Hoag offers the highest-quality advanced endoscopy services in Newport Beach, Irvine and the surrounding areas. The role of endoscopy in liver disease is both diagnostic and interventional. One such example is the endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), which uses a special endoscope with a built-in miniature ultrasound probe. This technology provides your doctor with more information than other imaging tests by providing detailed images of your liver.
