Metabolism & Weight Management Center

The Metabolism & Weight Management Center at Hoag is determined to help patients understand and manage the chronic nature of obesity. Obesity is linked to over 200 medical diseases, from cardiovascular disease and cancer to depression. The center is intended for adults 21 and older with a BMI greater than 27 with co-morbidity or a BMI greater than 30. The good news is that improving weight leads to improvement in almost every body function. Our center provides a multidisciplinary and personalized approach to help patients lose and maintain weight loss through combination therapy, including lifestyle changes, exercise, nutrition, education, medication and sometimes surgery.

We work seamlessly together to provide you with the best support. Our comprehensive team includes: Endocrinologists (MD); Pharmacists (PharmD, BC-ADM); Physician assistants (PA); Registered nurses (RN); Registered dietitians (RD); Certified diabetes care and education specialists (CDCES); Health and wellness coordinator; and a Research coordinator. We also work in collaboration with other Hoag entities, including the Mary & Dick Allen Diabetes Center, Digestive Health Institute, Women’s Health Institute, and the Jeffrey M. Carlton Heart & Vascular Institute.
