Hoag CFO Andrew Guarni Recognized as 2025 CFO of the Year

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. (May 12, 2025) – Andrew Guarni, executive vice president and chief financial officer at Hoag, has been honored with the “2025 CFO of the Year” award in the Not-for-Profit category by Orange County Business Journal.  The award was presented at the 18th annual CFO of the Year event in Irvine on May 8, 2025.

Andrew was recognized for his integral role in strengthening Hoag’s financial stability and advancing its strategic initiatives. As CFO, he has overseen the financial strategy behind Hoag’s $1.2 billion Irvine expansion, including Hoag’s Sun Family Campus in Irvine. His leadership has cemented Hoag’s position as a healthcare pioneer, bringing world-class services to Orange County and improving access for underserved populations.

In 2024, one of Andrew’s notable achievements was securing Hoag’s sponsorship of the OC Marathon, a move that reinforced Hoag’s commitment to promoting health and wellness throughout the community. By partnering with one of Southern California’s most anticipated events, which includes a marathon, half-marathon, 5K, and kids’ run, Andrew ensured that Hoag played a key role in encouraging active lifestyles for all ages.

He also serves as the executive leader of Hoag Fellowship Program, which has been accredited by the ACGME.

“This recognition is incredibly meaningful, not just to me, but to the entire Hoag family,” said Guarni. “I often say I have the best job in the world — and I truly mean that. Every day I get to work alongside the most talented, passionate, and driven individuals, all united by a purpose greater than ourselves: delivering world-class care and transforming the way people experience health care  through a personalized, human-centered approach.”

The Orange County Business Journal presents the CFO of the Year awards to financial professionals for outstanding performance as corporate stewards for the preceding fiscal year. The awards are presented in five categories – public company, private company, not-for-profit organization, rising star and lifetime achievement.
