Get free flu shots, health screenings at Hoag Irvine's annual health and wellness fair

Hoag Health Center Irvine will host its annual health and wellness fair Sept. 16, featuring a variety of activities as well as free flu shots and health screenings.

The event is open to the public for free at Hoag’s campus on Sand Canyon Avenue, north of Alton Parkway.

Hoag affiliated physicians and technicians will offer the following free health screenings on a first-come, first-served basis:

• Blood pressure testing

• Oxygen saturation testing

• Vision screening

• Hearing

• Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C screening

• Grip strength, functional reach and swallow/speech screening

• A1C testing

• Diabetes risk assessment

• Stroke risk assessment

Here’s the list of presentations that will be offered:

• Snoring and sleep disordered breathing

• Sports Injuries: What You Need to Know to Stay in the Game

• Precision Medicine: How Hoag is Using Targeted Therapy to Beat Cancer

• Coronary Disease/Heart-Healthy Living

• Preventing Foot and Ankle Pain

• Latest Options for Back Pain

• Stress Management and Meditation Demonstration

• Healthy Aging: Living Long, Living Well

There will also be tours of Hoag’s facility, healthy-cooking demonstrations, children’s activity, a blood drive and more.
