Hoag Medical Group Expands into San Clemente
Hoag Medical Group physicians Sarah Teymoorian, M.D., and Kayla Ramsey, D.O., are California natives who bring a passion for patient care to their medical practices. They are both part of Hoag’s expansion into South Orange County and are dedicated to providing high-quality care to more people in their communities.
Dr. Sarah Teymoorian: Inspired by Family
Sarah Teymoorian, M.D., says she was inspired by her parents and grandparents to pursue medicine.
Dr. Teymoorian is triple board-certified in internal medicine, geriatrics and palliative medicine.
After graduating from medical school at University of California, Irvine, she completed her internal medicine internship and fellowship in palliative medicine at Stanford University Hospital. She then completed her residency training at University of Missouri and her geriatrics fellowship at University of Kansas.
She came back to Orange County to practice medicine and recently joined the Hoag family as part of the Hoag Medical Group San Clemente office.
“I wanted to work in an organization that enjoys so much trust with our patients, and Hoag is a trusted brand,” she said. “My patient philosophy is about helping people achieve their health goals and being able to bring access and quality care to South County which really aligns with that philosophy.”
Dr. Teymoorian said she believes in building lasting and meaningful relationships with her patients to help them maintain their health while maximizing their quality of life. Her goal is to educate and empower her adult patients of all ages to optimize their physical, mental and spiritual health.
With a focus on caring for the whole patient, Dr. Teymoorian said she places a great value on incorporating mental health care into her practice.
“Mental health is an essential component of the primary care relationship,” she said.
Dr. Kayla Ramsey: Paying it Forward
Orange County native and board-certified family medicine physician, Kayla Ramsey, D.O., enjoys caring
for the very community that nurtured her love of science and her passion for medicine.
After graduating from University of California, Irvine, with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences,
Dr. Ramsey earned her medical degree from Western University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific. She completed her family medicine residency at Riverside University Health System before coming home to practice family medicine at the Hoag Medical Group office in San Clemente.
Her desire to help others has led Dr. Ramsey to regularly volunteer to help underserved communities with their health needs. In her own community, she believes strongly in helping her patients by focusing on preventative care.
“I enjoy seeing the whole family and helping them through all aspects of their health,” Dr. Ramsey said. “Preventative care is an area of interest for me, so we can be proactive and prevent avoidable health concerns.”
Dr. Ramsey recognizes that prevention means different things to different people, and she works with her patients to uncover the small things that might make a big difference to a person’s health.
