Take Our Virtual Tour

Take the virtual tour of our Sue and Bill Gross Women’s Pavilion to view firsthand the comfortable and spacious Labor, Delivery & Recovery (LDR) and Mother Baby Unit (MBU) suites.

Labor, Delivery, Recovery (LDR)

Hoag’s 18 private LDR (labor, deliver, recovery) suites are found on the fifth floor of Hoag Hospital Newport Beach. These lovely suites provide comfort during labor and quickly transform into fully equipped delivery rooms for childbirth. The LDR unit has three C-section rooms and is staffed round-the-clock with anesthesiologists and OB/GYN Hospitalists.

Mother and Baby Unit

The 49-bed postpartum unit is a sanctuary for new families to recover and bond. Hoag had adopted a policy of “non-separation” and newborns room-in with their mothers in the spacious family-centered postpartum rooms. The nursery is primarily used as a transitional nursery for examinations by a baby’s physician and for circumcisions.

MAGNET®-DESIGNATED NEONATAL NURSES

Hoag attained the Magnet® recognition as part of the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s (ANCC) Magnet Recognition Program. This credentialing program for hospitals recognizes excellence in nursing and is the highest honor an organization can receive for professional nursing practices. Magnet® recognition is the highest designation an organization can receive for professional nursing practice, and our ratio of neonatal nurses-to-patients is exceptionally low to assure excellent care.
