Dr. Brian Chesnie has been practicing cardiology in Orange County since
1985. He was one of the original arrhythmia / electrophysiology specialists
in the area, and was, in fact, the first to introduce the implantable
cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) to the area. He was the first director
of the arrhythmia and electrophysiology program at Hoag Hospital, and
he has been and is currently the Chairman of the Cardiology Department
at Hoag Hospital.
In addition to his background in general cardiology and electrophysiology,
he is also Board Certified in Clinical Lipidology and specializes in cardiovascular
He went to McMaster University Medical School in Ontario, Canada, and did
his residency and cardiology fellowship training at the University of
Toronto, as well as Harvard University, Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
He loves the practice of medicine and immensely enjoys working closely
with his patients. He is committed to education, understandable communication,
