Marisa Arpels, ASW, PMH-C,  is an Associate Social Worker, with a master’s degree in social work from Columbia University and a master’s in Planning from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).  She has certificates in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), acceptance commitment therapy (ACT), motivational interview (MI), and Eye Movement Desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR).  She is trained in mediation, facilitation and consensus building.  

A career changer, Marisa started with Hoag in 2018 and currently provides psychotherapy in English, Spanish and French to children, adolescents, adults, older adults, couples and families.  She specializes in anxiety and depression using evidence based practices and has a special interest in working with women at different stages of lifecycle development. She has completed advanced training in Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders and is a certified Perinatal Mental Health therapist (PMH-C) from Postpartum Support International. A lifelong learner, Marisa has a passion for empowering people to overcome difficulties, transform and achieve a values-based life.
