Diagnosed? We are Here for You
A Breast Cancer Diagnosis – How We Can Help
Hoag’s breast care team is here to help guide you through this emotional
and challenging journey. We strive to provide the highest quality of care
in a compassionate and efficient manner to meet your breast care needs.
If you are diagnosed with breast cancer, you will probably have several
questions. Hoag’s breast care team is ready to answer those questions,
help streamline your care and coordinate your treatment plan. At Hoag
you will have a multidisciplinary team of breast specialists to expertly
manage your care. This allows you and your physician to make timely, informed
decisions, and gives you the assurance of a team that will partner with
you and your physician to formulate a treatment plan tailored just for you.
This is an emotional time. The support of family and friends will help
give you the strength necessary to make challenging decisions during this
difficult time. We encourage you to talk with them about your diagnosis
and treatment options. Utilize the
breast cancer resources on this site to help you.
Following a diagnosis, a breast radiologist along with a breast care nurse
navigator will personally meet with you to explain your results. We recommend
bringing a friend or family member to your appointment to help gather
the information. From there, Hoag’s breast care nurse navigator
will be your point of contact for information regarding your treatment
plan, and is available to answer your questions or concerns. The nurse
navigator will review the different breast care physicians you may see,
including medical oncologists and specialized breast surgeons, and assist
you with scheduling your appointments to begin treatment.
Your questions and concerns are important, so please don’t hesitate
to ask anything that comes to mind. Each woman’s diagnosis is different
just as each cancer is different, so we understand your
questions and concerns will be unique.
