Hoag was recognized in the
Orange County Register's Best of Orange County reader survey for the 23rd time in the Hospital category.
More than 80 community organizations receive support from a non-profit,
faith-based hospital based in Newport Beach since 1952 as well as in Irvine
since 2010, according to the president and CEO Robert Braithwaite.
Hoag Hospital, which also includes eight health centers and 11 urgent care
centers throughout Orange County, introduced a Community Benefit Program
as part of its mission. “Hoag’s mission,” Braithwaite
said, “is to be a proactive participant in providing and partnering
with other like-minded organizations to meet the ever-increasing needs
of the Orange County community.”
Also of note, the Pickup Family Neurosciences Institute at the hospital
celebrated its 10-year anniversary last October, when it was renamed following
a $15 million donation from the Pickup Family Foundation, Braithwaite
explained. According to Braithwaite, the Institute’s Brain Tumor
Program, the largest of its kind in Orange County, was one of the first
to offer Leksell Gamma Knife Perfexion, heralded as the most advanced
radiosurgical treatment system available.
