The need for
lactation support rarely hits in calm moments and during convenient hours. That is why Hoag
is partnering with
Pacify, the breastfeeding app that provides on-demand lactation support 24/7.
With support from Hoag innovators, every mother who delivers at Hoag through
the end of 2020 will receive free unlimited access to Pacify for one year.
This includes on-demand, video-enabled access to a nationwide network
of board-certified lactation consultants. This is a complement to the
personal one-on-one breastfeeding support provided in
Hoag’s lactation clinic, which remains open on weekdays from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. For appointments,
call Hoag’s BabyLine at 949-764-2229. Hoag's lactation clinic
is located at 500 Superior Ave., Suite 300B, Newport Beach, CA 92663.
“For many women, breastfeeding presents challenges that can range
from frustrating to painful. By offering convenient access to face-to-face
consultations with lactation experts, we are hoping to support women’s
efforts to breastfeed their babies successfully,” said
Allyson Brooks, M.D., F.A.C.O.G., Ginny Ueberroth Executive Medical Director
Endowed Chair, Hoag Women’s Health Institute, and Senior Physician
Executive, Hoag.
Topics that women typically address with Pacify’s lactation experts include:
- Crying/colic
- Latching
- Pumping
- Picky eating
- Sore nipples
- Breastfeeding
Hoag advises women to download the app before they give birth, as part
of the preparation for their newborns’ arrival. The app can be downloaded
via the App Store for
iPhones, or through
Google Play for Android devices. After a woman’s baby is born, Hoag will provide the new
mother with a unique code to access her Pacify membership through the
app for free.
“The convenience of this app is particularly exciting for us, and
it is just another example of how committed Hoag is to providing excellent
care to our patients when and where they need it most,” said Dr. Brooks.
