NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. (Oct. 17, 2025) – Hoag Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) Jeffrey Aguilar has been named the “2025 CISO of the Year at the Southern California Society for Information Management (SIM)” | HMG Strategy’s Global Leadership Institute Executive Conference Awards.
Presented at the 16th annual Southern California CIO Executive Leadership Summit recently in Huntington Beach, the award recognizes exceptional technology executives who demonstrate visionary leadership, innovation and commitment to excellence in information security.
Under Aguilar’s leadership, Hoag has implemented industry-leading cybersecurity protocols, published the cyber security strategy, advanced data protection initiatives and fostered a risk aware culture across the organization. The strategic theme for the Cyber Security program is founded on reducing cyber risk while increasing organizational resilience.

Aguilar, a three-time CISO with over 28 years of experience, joined Hoag in December 2024. Jeffrey previously served as CISO for the County of Los Angeles and has consulted for several Fortune 500 companies, offering advisory services, executive leadership, and technical solution recommendations. Aguilar is a 2022-2023 CISO C100 winner and 2023 Government Technology award winner for High Impact Leadership.
