Learn How to Maintain Brain Health

Everyone can maintain brain health through aging. For anyone age 45 or older, the Vital Brain Aging Program recommends this three-step process:

  1. Visit OCBrain.org and take self-assessments to test your memory, level of depression and existing risk factors
  2. Call 949-764-6288 to schedule an in-person memory assessment*
  3. Repeat each year

There are several risk factors for developing cognitive impairment including: advanced age, diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure or cholesterol, lack of mentally or socially stimulating activities, sedentary lifestyle, and smoking.

The good news is there are steps to take that can lower risk of cognitive impairment. Visit OCBrain.org to learn how to recognize and manage risk factors to promote a healthy brain for years to come.

* In-person memory assessments are generously subsidized by Pickup Family Neurosciences Institute at Hoag and offered for a fee of $45.
