Arrhythmia Management
The Arrhythmia Center at Hoag Hospital is one of Southern California's foremost facilities in diagnosing & treating heart rhythm conditions. In April, 2012, Hoag opened the Allan and Sandy Fainbarg Electrophysiology Cath Suite; the first arrhythmia (EP) cath lab of its kind, combining leading-edge technology with a soothing Ambient Environment experience.

Types of Arrhythmia
The four main types of arrhythmia are premature (extra) beats, supraventricular arrhythmias, ventricular arrhythmias, and bradyarrhythmias (bray-de-ah-RITH-me-ahs).
What is Arrhythmia?
“Arrhythmia
(a=without; rrhytmia=rhythm)” means that the heart is not beating in a
regular pattern. This can be very upsetting for the person who is
experiencing this change in heart rhythm
Device Therapy
Treatment for heart arrhythmias varies according to your specific diagnosis. The following is a list of typical treatments:
• Medication
• Radiofrequency catheter ablation
• Permanent pacemaker implantation
• Implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD)
• Ablation of atrial fibrillation
• “Mini-maze” minimally invasive surgical treatment
• Bi-ventricular implantable cardioverter defibrillator
