Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian today announced the opening of one of the world’s most advanced cardiac operating suites.
The Bob and Marjie Bennett Hybrid Surgical Suite is named in honor of the Newport Beach couple whose $2 million donation provided the catalyst for the facility. The hybrid cardiovascular operating room includes a custom robot -- Siemen’s Artis Zeego robotic imaging system with 3D and 4D reconstruction software -- which is used to produce imaging in everything from open-heart surgeries to angioplasty and stenting.

Karen Linden, R.N., Leslie Margolin, and George Wood, CFA, joined the Hoag Board of Directors for the 2011 – 2012 fiscal year, beginning October 2011.

Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian announced today that Hoag Breast Care Center is the first breast care center in California and one of only a handful in the United States to offer 3D digital breast tomosynthesis for breast cancer screening. This revolutionary technology promises to improve breast cancer detection, especially in young women and women of any age with radiographically dense breast tissue. Women who undergo routine mammograms at Hoag Breast Care Center now have the latest screening technology available to them.

Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian recently qualified for the American Heart Association’s Mission: Lifeline Bronze Quality Achievement Award. The award recognizes the commitment and success of the Hoag Heart & Vascular Institute in its implementation of a higher standard of care for heart attack patients that effectively improves the survival and care of STEMI (ST Elevation Myocardial Infarction) patients.
