The Sapien valve is a breakthrough, new heart valve designed by Edwards Lifesciences. Hoag Heart & Vascular Institute is home to a highly specialized multi-specialty team of heart surgeons, cardiologists, cardiac anesthesiologists, interventional radiologists and cardiac surgical support staff who were selected by Edwards Lifesciences to be the first in Orange County to offer the Sapien valve and the revolutionary transfemoral aortic valve replacement surgery, also known as TAVR.
