Hoag physical therapists are specifically trained to improve movement, restore function and/or relieve pain for the following disorders:
- Orthopedic injuries
- Neurological disorders such as stroke, head injury and brain tumor
- Parkinson’s Disease and other movement disorders
- MS and other degenerative neurological diseases
- General weakness
- Gait instability
- Balance and vestibular disorders
- Incontinence and pelvic pain
- Lymphedema
Treatment may involve the following:
- Gait and transfer training
- Balance training
- Exercises for strength and flexibility
- Cardiovascular conditioning
- Joint and soft tissue mobilization
- Modalities for swelling and muscle re-education
- Patient, family and caregiver education
Each 40 minute session is one with a licensed therapist.
